Clinical Significance

Dalton’s law states that the total pressure of a gas mixture equals the sum of the partial pressures of its component gases.

In respiratory care, partial pressure is commonly estimated as gas fraction multiplied by barometric pressure for dry gases.

This dry-gas calculator does not subtract water vapor pressure unless you manually adjust the pressure input.
