Clinical Significance

Liquid oxygen duration estimates gaseous oxygen time from liquid oxygen amount and flow. The constants 344 L/lb and 860 L/L describe the approximate gaseous expansion of liquid oxygen.

Use the result to estimate remaining oxygen time for liquid systems at a continuous flow setting.

The estimate does not subtract normal evaporation or leakage; the text reports evaporative loss may occur each day.
